Our History

Roland Vaults Limited is a second-generation, family-owned and operated business located in Norfolk, Virginia.  Years before we changed our name to Roland Vaults Limited, our family founders, David James and Colette Roland, operated our community business under the name of "State Manufacturing Company of Virginia."

In 1973, to reflect both our family name and the nature of our business, our business name was legally changed to Roland Vaults, Limited.  In 2002 we began offering crematory services and now through use of the name "Roland Vaults & Cremation" we can better reflect both our vault services and our crematory services.  Though our business name has evolved over time, our business philosophy remains unchanged.

Our Mission

Everyone at Roland Vaults & Cremation is committed to providing exceptional service to all those we serve.  The majority of funeral providers we serve are also family-owned businesses and we value the relationships we have built over the years with their families.

Roland Vaults & Cremation does not operate under corporate policies which defines success by mandating that staff strive to increase profits.  Although our staff are highly experienced and most have been with Roland Vaults & Cremation for decades, it is their integrity, dedication and loyalty to those we serve that defines our success.
